Boat Harbour is a secluded beach accessible by 4WD only located 35 km west of Denmark off the South Coast Highway, midway between Parry Beach and Peaceful Bay.
Look for Boat Harbour Road (or Pitt Rd) off of South Coast Highway and ensure you have a four wheel drive vehicle as parts of the access road can be unnavigable by two wheel drive cars. Tap/click here for a Map to Boat Harbour, Denmark.
The Bibbulmun Track passes through the forest and dunes past this distant bay. The land is quite unique to the area with heath covered dunes and rocky terrain, with only a few tall trees as the soft sand and marsh can not support the large karri, jarrah or gums of the south coast.
It is a beautiful place for a picnic! Picnic tables are located almost on the beach above the boat launch. Swimming is not advised as the beach is surrounded on both sides by rocky headlands.
We do not advise trying to reach Boat Harbour without a 4Wheel Drive vehicle.
DANGER: Stay clear of costal rocks and the shoreline as this area is prone to extra large waves and surges. There is nothing between this coast and Antarctica. Do not underestimate the power of the ocean. Your safety is your responsibility.
Always Remember, the Great Southern Ocean coastline is prone to surges, so be extremely aware when climbing, driving or walking close to the waterline.
ACCESS:
Via the South West Highway and on to Nullaki Peninsula.
Follow Eden Road to the car park and staircase.
